Occasionally an issue or topic will stir some emotion or passion. I've realized that just writing a few lines can help integrate the energy and settle uneasiness. So, I will avail myself of the opportunity to express some thoughts from time to time, seeking primarily my own sense of ease.
While my personal idea is not to politicize or play combative games, I like to look for the truth of things and hope either ends of a spectrum can find the wondrous middle. A great friend and teacher once told me that there is truth in everything and I have felt compelled to look for it ever since. Often it's not pretty, but the guts of things often aren't.
I wonder sometimes, what if we had governments, media and a world where the highest value was recognizing the truth in everything and everyone? I've come to realize that to get there, we must start here with what we've got.
Reminds me of the story of the happy boy who was found joyfully digging through a huge mound of horse manure. When asked why he was doing that, he replied, "with all this horse poop around, there's got to be a pony in here somewhere".
Some might say, "we've got all the manure we want, can we dig it?"
